About Us
Founded in 2024 by Disney/Pixar veteran Danny Barnhart, Studio Boldheart is on a mission to transform the animation landscape. As a worker-owned studio that prioritizes people, we are passionate about crafting meaningful media. By working with bold-hearted artists, start-ups, nonprofits, and creative visionaries, we are striving to make the world a kinder place!
Danny Barnhart's passion for animation has been a lifelong journey, starting with the traditional beloved Disney classics on VHS as a child, to creating animated shorts in middle and high school. After earning a degree in Visual Effects from the Savannah College of Art and Design, he launched his career at Blue Sky Studios, contributing to films like Spies in Disguise and Nimona.

Following the closure of Blue Sky, Danny joined Pixar, where they played a key role on exciting projects such as Turning Red, Lightyear, Inside Out 2, and Win or Lose. Beyond crafting stunning visuals, he dedicated himself to enhancing crew culture, leading the Pride employee resource group and lending his creative and organizational talents to various other inclusion initiatives within the studio.

Throughout his years in the animation industry, Danny discovered their true passion: creating animation that not only makes underrepresented audiences feel seen, but celebrated. It was this dream that led to the birth of Studio Boldheart, where imagination meets inclusion, and every story gets to shine bright!
